The Academy: A brief history
Opened in October 2001, The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management is part of Jumeirah Group, the hotel group behind the most luxurious hotel in the world, Burj Al Arab as well as a number of other world renowned hotel properties in Dubai, London and New York. Established as an institution of higher education, offering degree-level courses, it is the first major academy focusing on tourism and hospitality education at the university level in the Middle East.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is the owner of Jumeirah and the Academy's patron.  The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the United Arab Emirates licenses and accredits The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and its degree courses.

The Academy's Bachelor's degree students in hospitality have a unique opportunity to spend a year of their studies at the renowned Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, resulting in a truly international and world class education experience.

With highly qualified international faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern comprehensive facilities and strong support from a leading hospitality group, the Academy is well-placed to become one of the world's leading tourism and hospitality management schools.
