Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne
Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) was founded in 1893, a hundred and fifteen years ago and is the oldest and one of the most respected hotel schools in the world. From the start, its approach emphasized not only the technique but also the culture of hospitality: the mixture of tangible and intangible elements that make up this unique industry.
EHL was the first hospitality school in Switzerland to be part of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, with government recognition at university level. While EHL plays an active part in the university, often referred to by its French initials HES-SO, it retains its independence and distinctive character, building on its own tradition of excellence which has made it a reference in hospitality education for more than 115 years.
With more than a century of experience in hospitality management education, EHL is an institution steeped in traditions as rich as those of the most venerable hotels around the world - yet a visit to the school reveals a young, dynamic institution with ultra-modern facilities. EHL has always striven to be at the forefront of change while preserving and reinterpreting its heritage for each new generation.
The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM) is proud to be in academic association with EHL. The relationship between both institutions have developed over the years and students from both institutions are able to spend up to an academic year in either Dubai or Switzerland.
