Overview

The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM) in Dubai is a specialised hotel school that offers business management degrees with a hospitality focus and the very first hotel school in the Middle East to offer internationally recognised degree-level courses. EAHM is a diverse hotel school which currently has about 300 hospitality management students from 60 different nationalities. With a highly qualified, multi-national faculty with hospitality experience, modern facilities and strong partnerships with the hotel and hospitality industry, EAHM has fast become one of the world’s leading hotel schools.

The main hospitality management course offered at our hotel school is the three-year Bachelor degree with Honours, which is the highest level of undergraduate qualification any student can obtain in a hotel school. An Honours degree in hospitality management at our hotel school also enables you to pre-qualify for entry into a range of postgraduate Masters degrees, whether it be in hospitality management or any other business-related industry. This hospitality management programme offered at our hotel school is designed to develop abilities in both the operational field of a hotel and the overall discipline of management. The hospitality management programme also includes a 6 month internship where students can gain work experience in a 5 star hotel. Students also have the opportunity to study a trimester abroad at the world-renowned hotel schools, Ecole hôtelière de Laussane or Cornell Univeristy.

Your Internship

As a hotel school that is an integral part of Jumeirah, the luxury hotel group behind world renowned properties in the Middle East such as the Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah and many other hotels around the world, certainly offers our hospitality management students an unrivalled opportunity for their internship. In addition, EAHM’s reputation as a leading hotel school with its recognized hospitality management programmes as well its strong connections with the hotel and hospitality industry, also opens up further opportunities within other reputable five-star hotel chains in Dubai, the Middle East and internationally.

The internship period is a vital component of a hospitality management programme in any hotel school as it provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the hospitality industry. At our hotel school, the internship lasts for about 6 months at the beginning of Year 2 of the hospitality management degree programme and can be done in any five-star hotel or any other reputable hospitality establishment in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world. EAHM will help students get a job in a hotel and facilitate the internship on their behalf and although students may indicate a hotel preference, placement is not guaranteed as it depends on the individual hotels. Associate of Business Administration in International Hospitality Management

The Associate of Business Administration degree is a one and a half year hospitality management programme offered at our hotel school in Dubai. It consists of the first five trimesters of the Bachelor of Business Administration hospitality management degree, including the internship in any 5 star hotel. As a leading hotel school both in the Middle East and the world, this fast track programme is unique to EAHM as it provides hospitality management students with a foundation of essential skills required for a supervisory position in the hotel and hospitality industry, whether it is in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world. Students will receive a thorough introduction to food production, restaurant operations, front office and rooms division operations in hotels as well as basic and introductory business and management subjects during their time at our hotel school.

Hotel school graduates can utilise this hospitality programme as a fast track into a career in the hotel and hospitality industry or may opt to continue their studies to the full three-year hospitality management degree programme at our hotel school. The internship may be deferred until you leave our hotel school and by using the EAHM’s hospitality industry partners you can initially get an internship in a hotel that springboards you into a real job at the end, whether it is in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world.

The entry requirements and application process for the Associate of Business Administration degree is the same as the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) programme.

Minimum Requirements

- UAE Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent [Minimum 5 GCSEs (O-Levels) and 3 'A'-levels with an average grade of 75% or above.  Click on this link for detailed information on other education and grading systems.

- A paper-based TOEFL score of 500 or IELTS overall band of 5.0 or CAE score of 41-46.See details here.

- Successful entrance interview


Note: The TOEFL / IELTS / CAE test is a UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research requirement and is mandatory for all students (this applies to American / Australian / British etc. passport holders as well). You may sit for a TOEFL test at EAHM.

Accommodation On Campus

The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM), a leading hotel school located opposite Burj Al Arab, offers students high quality lodging with one of the greatest views in Dubai. Students now have the opportunity to choose from the best available selection of on-campus accommodation rates. EAHM offers accommodation packages to registered students only. There are various packages that students can choose from to enjoy significant savings and which enables them to stay in their fully equipped studio during the holidays! Once the simple application process has been completed, students can book a studio for a period of up to one Academic Year.

Scholarships


There are three types of scholarships that are being offered to potential students who intend to pursue the BBA degree:

1. The EAHM Scholarship for Emirati Nationals
This is a scholarship awarded annually to Emirati national candidates who meet EAHM’s entrance criteria and who can demonstrate a strong commitment to the hospitality industry as a career choice.  For successful applicants, tuition fees and sundries will be covered for the duration of study.  However, recipients will be required to work for up to an average of 8 hours per week, on projects specified by EAHM.  Upon graduation, scholarship recipients will assume full time and continuous employment with Jumeirah International LLC for a period of at least 2 years.


2. The EAHM Scholarship for Academic Excellence
This is a scholarship awarded annually to incoming (1st year) students of any nationality who have demonstrated academic excellence in high school results (usually straight “As”), is experiencing financial hardship and who can demonstrate a strong commitment to the hospitality industry as a career choice.  For successful applicants, tuition fees and sundries will be either fully or partially covered for the duration of study.  However, recipients will be required to work for up to an average of 8 hours per week, on projects specified by EAHM.  Upon graduation, scholarship recipients will assume full time and continuous employment with Jumeirah International LLC for a period of at least 2 years.


3. The EAHM-Ronnefeldt Scholarship
This is a scholarship awarded annually to incoming (1st year) students of German nationality who have demonstrated academic excellence in high school results (usually straight “As”), or has achieved sporting excellence and can demonstrate a strong commitment to the hospitality industry as a career choice.  For successful applicants, tuition fees and sundries will be either fully or partially covered for the duration of study.  However, recipients will be required to work for up to an average of 8 hours per week, on projects specified by EAHM or Ronnefeldt.  Further terms and conditions may apply on a case by case basis.

 

To apply for any of the above Scholarships, you should include within your Application a letter stating your intent to apply for the scholarship and justification of why you should receive it.  In addition, two completed Evaluation / Reference forms must be submitted as well.

How to Apply

We understand that preparing an application for further studies can seem complex at times. However, here at EAHM, we are committed to making the process as easy as possible and we will do everything we can to assist you. 

You may begin your studies in January, April or September and Applications are accepted either Online or via Email.  Please also visit our download centre for the Brochures, Application form, Fee structure and other related documents.

Deadlines for applications are as follows:  

- January intake:               By October 30th
- April intake: By January 30th
- September intake:       By June 30th

*Late applications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.


If you are applying for a scholarship, you will need to indicate your intention by the following deadlines.  Scholarships are considered on a rolling basis:

- January intake: By April 15th
- April intake: By August 15th
- September intake:   By January 15th

STEP 1: Filling in the Forms

Application form
The Application form has to be fully completed together with payment of the application fee of AED 500.  Please click HERE for payment methods. Receipt of the payment made must be included with your application.


Evaluation / Reference form
One
Evaluation / Reference form must be completed by either your teacher, employer or someone that knows you professionally.  If you are applying for a Scholarship, you will need to submit Two Evaulation / Reference forms.


Medical information form
Your Medical information form must be submitted together with your application. Disclosing a medical condition will not affect your admission to EAHM as we recognise and support students with particular learning requirements such as dyslexia, numeracy issues etc.

STEP 2: Submitting Your Documents

High School Diploma and Transcripts
We need copies of your final graduation transcripts and high school diplomas (Years 10, 11 and 12).  If you are in your final year of studies and have not yet received your diploma, you may apply for conditional acceptance based on your results throughout the year. Please note that you will need to get your diplomas and transcripts officially translated to English if it is in a foreign language.

In certain instances, you may be requried to obtain a Certificate of Equivalency for your high school diploma from The Ministry of Education of the UAE.  You will be informed by EAHM if this is necessary.

Attestation of Your Educational Documents

If you completed your high school in the UAE
, the original or a certified true copy of your parchment and the detailed transcript of the marks you have obtained must be authenticated by the school at which you have studied in the UAE and by The Ministry of Education of the UAE.

If you completed your high school outside the UAE,  you may apply and will be conditionally accepted by EAHM.  However, you must still have your educational documents certified by the following authorities:

1)  Official education authorities of the country where the certificate is awarded such as The Ministry of Education, Education Councils, British Council etc.

2)  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the certificate is awarded.

3)  Embassy of the UAE in the country where the certificate is awarded or the embassy of such country in the UAE.


Scanned Coloured Copy of Your Passport & 1 JPEG Passport Photo
Please submit a scanned coloured copy of your passport and 1 JPEG passport photo.


Personal Statement of Motivation
This personal essay is an important part of your application. Allow us to get to know you better and understand the reasons why you are interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. This statement should be between 300 - 500 words and typewritten.

If you are applying for a Scholarship, you should include within your Application a letter stating your intent to apply for the scholarship and justification of why you should receive it.
  

Other Documents
Any other additional documents which you would like to include such as academic awards, employment certificates, achievements etc.

STEP 3: Proof of English Proficiency

Your TOEFL or IELTS or CAE test scores must be submitted as it is a UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research requirement and it is mandatory for ALL students even if English is their first language. You may sit for a TOEFL test at EAHM - please contact us for more information.

STEP 4: The Interview

Suitable candidates will be invited to the final stage of the application process consisting of a personal interview. This can either be a face-to-face interview at EAHM or a phone interview if the candidate is applying from overseas. The main purpose of the interview is to help us learn about you, your experience and your expectations in order to determine your motivation, potential and fit for the demands of the hospitality business. 

Transferring to Us

We welcome students who wish to transfer their studies to us. EAHM recognises credits earned at other accredited universities and applications for transfer is possible.  However, the maximum credits given can only be 50% which equates to 63 credits (out of the possible 126 credits).

To determine the number of credits that can be transferred, you must include with your Application detailed learning outcomes and syllabus of the courses from your current university.  View a sample of a learning outcome and syllabus HERE.
