Overview
The three year Bachelor degree with Honours is the highest level of undergraduate qualification any student can obtain. An Honours degree enables you to pre-qualify for entry into a range of postgraduate Masters degrees too.
Graduates from this programme are expected to rapidly climb through the management structure of a hotel or other hospitality related companies to be the leading senior professionals of the future.

Your Internship
Being an integral part of Jumeirah, the luxury hotel group behind world renowned properties such as the Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah and many other properties around the world, certainly offers you an unrivalled opportunity for your internship. In addition, The Academy’s strong connections with the hospitality industry also opens up further opportunities within other reputable five-star hotel chains in Dubai and internationally.
The internship period for students lasts for about 6 months at the beginning of Year 2 of the degree programme and can be done in any five-star hotel or any reputable hospitality establishment anywhere in the world. The Academy will help you get a job and facilitate the internship on your behalf and although you may indicate a hotel preference, placement is not guaranteed as it depends on the individual hotels. The Academy has had interns in Dubai, the Gulf region, many countries in Europe, the UK and Ireland, the Caribbean, the Maldives and Asia to name just a few places.

Associate of Science in International Hospitality Operations
The Associate of Science degree is a one and a half year programme consisting of the first five trimesters of the Bachelor of Science degree. This programme provides you with a foundation of essential skills required for a supervisory position in the hospitality industry. You will receive a thorough introduction to food production, restaurant operations, front office and rooms division operations as well as basic and introductory business and management subjects.
Graduates can utilise this programme as a fast track into a career in the hospitality industry or may opt to continue their studies to the full degree programme at The Academy. The internship may be deferred until you leave the Academy and by using the The Academy’s partners you can initially get an internship that springboards you into a real job at the end.
The entry requirements and application process for the Associate of Science degree is the same as the Bachelor of Science (Hons.) programme.
Tuition Fees
Fees for the Bachelor of Science (Hons.) programme include:
Tuition fees for all courses
A laptop (including maintenance for the entire duration of the programme)
Business suits and Service/Kitchen uniforms

All textbooks and academic materials
Academic related photocopying and printing

Scholarships
There are two types of scholarships that are being offered to potential students who intend to pursue the BSc degree:
1. The EAHM Scholarship for Emirati Nationals
This is a scholarship awarded annually to Emirati national candidates who meet The Academy’s entrance criteria and who can demonstrate a strong commitment to the hospitality industry as a career choice. For successful applicants, tuition fees will be covered for the duration of study. However, recipients will be required to work for up to an average of 8 hours per week, on projects specified by EAHM. Upon graduation, scholarship recipients will assume full time and continuous employment with Jumeirah International LLC for a period of at least 2 years.
2. The EAHM Scholarship for Academic Excellence
This is a scholarship awarded annually to incoming (1st year) students of any nationality who have demonstrated academic excellence in high school results (usually straight “As”) and who can demonstrate a strong commitment to the hospitality industry as a career choice. For successful applicants, tuition fees will be covered for the duration of study. However, recipients will be required to work for up to an average of 8 hours per week, on projects specified by EAHM. Upon graduation, scholarship recipients will assume full time and continuous employment with Jumeirah International LLC for a period of at least 2 years.
To apply for the Scholarship, you should include within your Application a letter stating your intent to apply for the scholarship and justification of why you should receive it. In addition, two completed Evaluation / Reference forms must be submitted as well.

STEP 1: Filling in the Forms
Application form
The Application form has to be fully completed together with payment of the application fee of AED 500. Please click HERE for payment methods. Receipt of the payment made must be included with your application.
Evaluation / Reference form
One Evaluation / Reference form must be completed by either your teacher, employer or someone that knows you professionally. If you are applying for a Scholarship, you will need to submit Three Evaulation / Reference forms.
Medical information form
Your Medical information form must be submitted together with your application. Disclosing a medical condition will not affect your admission to The Academy as we recognise and support students with particular learning requirements such as dyslexia, numeracy issues etc.
STEP 2: Submitting Your Documents
High School Diploma and Transcripts
We need copies of your final graduation transcripts and high school diplomas (Years 10, 11 and 12). If you are in your final year of studies and have not yet received your diploma, you may apply for conditional acceptance based on your results throughout the year. Please note that you will need to get your diplomas and transcripts officially translated to English if it is in a foreign language.
In certain instances, you may be requried to obtain a Certificate of Equivalency for your high school diploma from The Ministry of Education of the UAE. You will be informed by The Academy if this is necessary.
Attestation of Your Educational Documents
If you completed your high school in the UAE, the original or a certified true copy of your parchment and the detailed transcript of the marks you have obtained must be authenticated by the school at which you have studied in the UAE and by The Ministry of Education of the UAE.
If you completed your high school outside the UAE, you may apply and will be conditionally accepted by The Academy. However, you must still have your educational documents certified by the following authorities:
1) Official education authorities of the country where the certificate is awarded such as The Ministry of Education, Education Councils, British Council etc.
2) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the certificate is awarded.
3) Embassy of the UAE in the country where the certificate is awarded or the embassy of such country in the UAE.

Please submit a scanned coloured copy of your passport and 1 JPEG passport photo.
Personal Statement of Motivation
This personal essay is an important part of your application. Allow us to get to know you better and understand the reasons why you are interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. This statement should be between 300 - 500 words and typewritten.
Other Documents
Any other additional documents which you would like to include such as academic awards, employment certificates, achievements etc.
STEP 3: Proof of English Proficiency
STEP 4: The Interview
Suitable candidates will be invited to the final stage of the application process consisting of a personal interview. This can either be a face-to-face interview at The Academy or a phone interview if the candidate is applying from overseas. The main purpose of the interview is to help us learn about you, your experience and your expectations in order to determine your motivation, potential and fit for the demands of the hospitality business.
Transferring to Us
We welcome students who wish to transfer their studies to us. The Academy recognises credits earned at other accredited universities and applications for transfer is possible. However, the maximum credits given can only be 50% which equates to 63 credits (out of the possible 126 credits).
To determine the number of credits that can be transferred, you must include with your Application detailed learning outcomes and syllabus of the courses from your current university. View a sample of a learning outcome and syllabus HERE.
