Stephanie Morris - The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management

Stephanie Morris:
Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Language Centre

Stephanie Morris comes from San Francisco, California where she was a practicing attorney specializing in the areas of commercial and consumer law.  In addition to her legal experience, Stephanie also has a diverse background in training, development and teaching English as a foreign language.  Prior to moving to Dubai, she spent a year in North Africa where she taught English to students of all ages and levels in Tunisia and Morocco.  She also developed an Arabic cultural immersion programme for an independent language centre during her stay in Morocco and is a dedicated student of Modern Standard Arabic.  She took her Juris Doctoris from Washington University in St. Louise, Missouri and her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois.

Join us for a unique and fun learning experience. The Emirates Academy is the first to offer language courses specifically aimed at the hospitality industry.  Our native-speaking instructors will teach you how
to communicate in the languages of your guests.   Classes will be held at our centrally-located campus across from the Burj Al Arab.  Our facilities are beautiful, modern and comfortable.  Our aim is to make this a truly enjoyable educational experience that will continue to benefit you as you advance in your career.

There are many reasons for you to learn a new language:

Career growth:
Multi-lingual employees hold a distinct advantage in their ability to communicate with industry professionals from other countries. Even though English is the international language of commerce, it still helps to “break the ice” by addressing a colleague in his native tongue.

Good for business:
Most foreign guests would not necessarily expect to be greeted in their own language, but think how they must feel when it does happen!  Your guests will be given an immediate sense of connection, warmth and security.  You will help to create an atmosphere that induces return business in the future.

It ’s edifying:
Your guests are broadening their horizons through international travel. By engaging with them on cultural turf that is familiar to them, you not only strengthen your business, but you also humanize your working environment.

It ’s FUN!!
