    | |  |  | Mike Newnham, Head of Consulting Mike joined Jumeirah Group as Corporate Director Human Resources in February 2000 and has spent eight years leading the function to support rapid growth and build for the future. Mike has overseen the development of modern HR resources, processes and technologies in recruitment, learning & development, performance management, welfare and remuneration, to position the Company as a preferred employer. Prior to this, Mike was Director of Training & Development, Asia Pacific, for what was then Bass Hotels & Resorts (now InterContinental Hotels Group), based in Hong Kong. During the early 1990s Mike was a Director with the Singapore-based Training and Human Resources consultancy, Training Services Asia. He established his international career with Hyatt International, holding various positions in Training and Human Resources within the Asia Pacific region.   | of Hospitality (formerly HCIMA), he was awarded a Masters Degree in Training (Distinction) from the University of Leicester in 1999 and is currently studying for a Doctorate in Social Sciences. Mike serves as an Associate Tutor in Dubai for the University of Leicester's distance learning Masters programmes in Human Resources Management and teaches a management course at The Emirates Academy. Mike is also an Excellence Assessor, certified by the European Foundation of Quality Management. |  |

   | |  |  | Shaun Harper, Director, Professional Training and Development Shaun has a breadth of experience in Learning and Development and HR. For the last 7 years he has been running his own successful company in the UK. His experience and innovative style has allowed him to deliver projects for a variety of companies including Royal Bank of Scotland, British Petroleum, Standard Life, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Penna Consulting, Diageo, THUS, Erskine Hospital, Change Recruitment and Marks & Spencers. He has worked in various parts of the world including the Middle East. Previous to his 7 years running his own business, Shaun was the Regional HR & LD Manager for Hilton where he supported 18 properties. His early career was spent with ASDA and national and international hotel chains. Shaun has a number of relevant training qualifications including: Craft Training, Group Training Techniques, Organising Training Assessment, Assessor qualifications D32, D33, Verifier qualification D34 and CIPD and Institute of Leadership & Management. |
