Course Overview
The MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007 TRAINING - Basic level course is designed to provide trainees who are new to the Office 2007 applications with the fundamental IT skills required in business operations.
Target Audience
Beginner users of Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Course Objectives
To acquire an understanding of IT and its vocabulary.
To acquire the skills and competency to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook confidently.
Course Outline
I. MS Windows 1 hour:
• Introduction to Operating systems and Computers
• Features of MS Windows
• Desktop: items, their role and finding your way around windows
• Working with windows and customisation tips
II. MS Outlook 2 hours:
• Understanding Outlook
• Using the help function in outlook (applicable throughout MS Office)
• Creating messages
• Customizing, sending & receiving messages: signatures
• Replying, forwarding & recalling messages
• Working with attachments
• Understanding time management functions
• Tasks, notes and reminders
• Using calendar to schedule appointments
III. MS Word 2 hours:
• Introduction to Word
• Working with text – navigate, cut, copy & paste, page set-up
• Inserting images and objects
• Format – fonts, borders & shading, paragraphs
• Print
• Features to make life easy – spell check, bullets & numbering
• Headers & footers, columns & graphics
• Finalising a professional document
IV. MS Excel 2 hours:
• Introduction to Spreadsheets
• Editing your Workbook
• Working with columns and rows
• Performing calculations
• The role of functions
• Working with Multiple Worksheets
• Creating and modifying charts
V. MS PowerPoint 1 hour:
• Introduction to PowerPoint
• Creating powerful presentations
• Managing text – inserting, formatting, bullets & numbering and using text box tool
• Working with slides – slide layouts
• Applying design templates
• Presentation tips
Course Material
The course fee includes everything required for the class work including desktop computers, computer applications, notebooks, articles, note-paper and pencils.
Prerequisites
The programme does not require any prerequisites.
Certification
A Certificate of Proficiency will be issued by The Emirates Academy.
